Quick Start Guide for Teams


GameSheet Teams (GS Teams) is your hub to manage all aspects of your team's activities, schedules, rosters, and team communication! Whether you're a manager, coach, parent or player, GS Teams offers powerful tools to streamline your team management workflow.

GameSheet includes two primary components:

  1. Team App: We recommend downloading the GameSheet Teams App for the best experience. Managers, coaches, parents, and players can use the app to manage rosters, view schedules, stats and standings, communicate with the team, and manage games, practices, and events

    Alternatively, you can access these same features through the GameSheet Web Dashboard.

  2. iPad Scoring App This is the digital version of the paper score sheet. Games are scored using this app and are automatically uploaded where they can be viewed.

For Team Staff - Coaches/Managers

Team Staff, such as managers and coaches have comprehensive access to all team management features. Here are the key features:

  • Manage Roster: Add, edit, and remove players and coaches from your team roster.
  • Send Team Invites: Share access with other team staff or followers.
  • Manage Team Schedule: Enter all of your Practices/Non-Game events, and stay up-to-date with your schedule!
  • Calendar Sync: Sync team schedules with external calendar applications such as Google or Apple Calendars to stay constantly up-to-date
  • View Completed Games: Access your teams completed games, and download the scoresheets. Team staff will also receive post-game emails after each game has been uploaded.
  • Team Communication: Communicate with other Team Staff

Upgrade to GS Teams+ to Invite Followers

With GameSheet Teams+, you can invite players, parents, family members, and friends to follow your team.

Followers can view schedules, rosters, game information, stats (where available), receive team communications, and subscribe to the team calendar. They cannot manage team settings, rosters, schedules, or events.

Team Invitation Codes & Scoring Access Key

Your league contact / administrator should have provided you with two different codes / keys:

  1. Team Invitation Code: The team invitation code is used to link your GameSheet account with your team. It is also required to create a new account.

    Example Team Invitation Code: HJ8nUrCV3X

  2. Scoring Access Key: The scoring access key is used to sign in to the iPad Scoring app which is used exclusively to score games. Everyone in your league will have the same key.

Get Started with a Team Account

If you don't already have a Team account, create a new account by following these steps:

  1. Go to https://teams.gamesheet.app and click "Register"

    Paste in your team's Invitation Code, verify that you have the right team, and click "Continue."

    1. Note that the invitation code is 10 characters long and is composed of random numbers and letters. If you did not receive an invitation code, contact your league administrator. 
  2. Fill in the remaining required fields and click "Create Account."

If you already have a Team GameSheet account, accept your invitation by following these steps:

  1. Log into the Team App with your email and password.

    1. If you forgot your password, use the forgot password link to reset it. 

      Click on the team name at the top of the screen

      Click on "Add New Team" from the menu. 

      Paste the invitation code into the field and click "Continue."

      Verify that the correct team is listed, and click "Continue."

      Determine if you'd like to link this team to another team that you already have access to and click "Accept Invitation."

    2. Teams should be linked when the team already exists elsewhere in GameSheet
    3. Linked teams share a roster which will automatically be kept in sync across GameSheet seasons.
    4. Example: A team uses GameSheet for their regular season. The team plays in a tournament that also uses GameSheet. These teams should be linked.

Manage Your Team Roster

Adding Players/Coaches to your Roster

GameSheet Teams is designed specifically for managers and coaches to be able to see and manage all of their teams in one place. All roster management can be handled in the Roster tab of the GameSheet Teams App. Rosters can be added via CSV ImportUSA Hockey ImportHockey Canada Import, or manually one at a time.

Editing Players & Coaches on your Roster

Rosters can also edited directly in the GameSheet Teams view, allowing managers and coaches to quickly update details, and make corrections without leaving the app for Players & Coaches.

Invite Others to Your Team

Coaches and managers can invite additional staff members through the Team App. Staff members receive management access, allowing them to manage rosters, schedules, practices, events, and team communication.

Teams that have upgraded to GS Teams+ can also invite followers, such as players, parents, family members, and friends so everybody can stay connected to team activities!

Manage Your Team Schedule

GameSheet Teams gives Team Managers and Coaches the ability to add and manage Practices and Non-Game events, in addition to tracking regular games. GameSheet ensures that practices and events are easily scheduled and visible to those with access to the team, keeping all team-related activities organized and in one place!

Practices and Non-Game events are only visible to those who have access to this team, and will not sync back to the Leagues website

Calendar Sync

Stay organized and never miss a game, practice, or event with GameSheet’s calendar syncing feature. You can sync your team’s schedule with Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or any other calendar application that supports syncing via URL.

Completed Games & Post-Game Emails

Coaches and managers can view completed games directly from the Schedule tab in GameSheet Teams. Select any completed game to access game details, including scoresheets, box scores, statistics, and game summaries.

If you've successfully set up your GameSheet Team Account and have accepted the invitation for for your team, you'll automatically receive a post game email from GameSheet that includes a summary of the game along with links to view the score sheet and the box score. If you are not receiving these emails, check your junk mail and confirm that you've accepted the correct Invitation Code.


Team Communication

Take advantage of our new team communication tool! GameSheet Teams allows both staff and followers to actively participate in discussions, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the team. Stay connected, share updates, and coordinate effortlessly with this powerful feature.


Get Started with the iPad Scoring App

  1. Install the Scoring app on the App store by following the instructions here: https://help.gamesheet.app/article/6-installing-scoring-app
  2. Open the iPad Scoring app.
  3. Enter your league's Scoring Access Key into the form field and tap the "Sign In" button. Remember, the access key typically begins with "ipad-" and should have been provided to you by your league.
