Embedding a Scrollable Results Ticker to Your Website

The Scoreboard Ticker is a horizontal strip of game cards for one season: recent results, games in progress and upcoming games, in a single row designed to sit above or below a website's header. It is part of the GameSheet Stats Widget and is added the same way as the other Stats Widget pages, with an iframe and a URL.

Live games update while the page is open, so visitors see new goals and final scores without refreshing.

Add the ticker to a page

Paste this iframe where the strip should appear, then replace 15008  with your season ID.

HTML

<iframe
  src="https://gamesheetstats.com/seasons/15008/ticker"
  frameborder="0"
  style="width:100%; height:150px;"></iframe>
Part Value
URL https://gamesheetstats.com/seasons/{seasonId}/ticker
Width 100% . The ticker fills the width it is given and shows as many cards as fit.
Height 150px . The strip has a fixed height, and 150px fits it on every browser without an inner scrollbar.

The ticker always shows a single season. To cover several seasons, add one ticker per season.

Find your season ID

The season ID is the number after /seasons/  in any Stats Widget URL for the season. In https://gamesheetstats.com/seasons/15008/games , the season ID is 15008 .

What visitors see

Each game is one card. From top to bottom, a card shows:

Row Content
Status The start time for an upcoming game, LIVE  during play, or FINAL  once the game is complete (FINAL/OT  or FINAL/SO  when it went to overtime or a shootout)
Division The game's division. This row is left out when the ticker is filtered to a single division, since every card would show the same name.
Visitor Logo, team name and score
Home Logo, team name and score

On completed games, a marker points to the winning score. Games carried on LiveBarn show the LiveBarn logo on the card. A date block appears before the first game of each day.

How the strip behaves:

  • It opens on the most useful point in the season. That is a game in progress when there is one, and otherwise the current day's games, the next scheduled games or, for a season that has ended, the most recent results.
  • Visitors move through the season with the arrows at either end, or by swiping on a touch screen. Each arrow fades out at the first or last game.
  • Clicking a card opens that game's page in a new tab, with the box score and game details. The page that holds the ticker stays where it is.
  • The calendar button at the right end opens the full schedule in a new tab.
  • Live games update on their own. Scores change as goals are recorded, and the card switches to FINAL  when the game is completed.
  • Games added or rescheduled after the page loads appear the next time the page is loaded.
  • On a phone the strip stays horizontal and shows about one card at a time.

If no games match the URL, the strip shows No games scheduled  in the same layout. If the season ID is not valid, it shows Season not found .

Choose which games appear

Add filters to the end of the URL. Start the first one with ?  and join any others with & .

Filter Shows Example
filter[division] Games in one or more divisions. Separate several IDs with commas. filter[division]=2290
filter[team] Games for one or more teams. Separate several IDs with commas. filter[team]=14410
filter[type] Games of one type: exhibition , regular_season , playoff  or tournament filter[type]=playoff
filter[query] Games matching a search term, such as part of a team name filter[query]=Wild
filter[start_time_from]  and filter[start_time_to] Games within a date range, written YYYY-MM-DD filter[start_time_from]=2026-11-01&filter[start_time_to]=2026-11-30

A league with several age groups often places one ticker per division, so each section of its site shows its own games:

HTML

<iframe
  src="https://gamesheetstats.com/seasons/15008/ticker?filter[division]=2290"
  frameborder="0"
  style="width:100%; height:150px;"></iframe>

Find division and team IDs

  • Team ID: open the team's page in the season's Stats Widget. The number after /teams/  is the team ID. In https://gamesheetstats.com/seasons/15008/teams/14410 , the team ID is 14410 .
  • With the Stats API: GET /divisions?filter[seasons]={seasonId}  and GET /teams?filter[seasons]={seasonId}  list a season's divisions and teams. The id  values they return are the IDs the ticker filters accept.

Match your branding

Two settings colour the ticker:

Setting Colours
configuration[primary-colour] The arrows at either end, and the winning-score marker
configuration[secondary-colour] The date blocks and the status bar at the top of each card

Write colours as six-digit hex values without the # , for example C8102E . A value that includes #  falls back to the standard GameSheet colours.

HTML

<iframe
  src="https://gamesheetstats.com/seasons/15008/ticker?configuration[primary-colour]=C8102E&configuration[secondary-colour]=1B365D"
  frameborder="0"
  style="width:100%; height:150px;"></iframe>

Text on coloured areas switches between light and dark automatically to stay readable. Live games are always highlighted in GameSheet blue and the calendar button is always grey, whatever colours are set.

Use a saved configuration

A season can have Stats Widget settings saved in GameSheet. Each saved configuration has a numeric ID.

  • The season's default configuration applies to the ticker automatically, with nothing added to the URL.
  • Any other saved configuration applies when its ID is added as configuration={id} :
https://gamesheetstats.com/seasons/15008/ticker?configuration=12

A setting written in the URL takes priority over the same setting in a saved configuration, and the saved configuration's other settings still apply. For example, ?configuration=12&configuration[primary-colour]=00843D  uses configuration 12 with a green primary colour.

Use a configuration ID saved for the same season as the ticker. With an ID from another season, the ticker shows the standard GameSheet settings.

To make the strip display-only, add configuration[links]=false . Cards are then no longer clickable, the calendar button is hidden, and the arrows keep working.

https://gamesheetstats.com/seasons/15008/ticker?configuration[links]=false

Settings carry through to game pages

Every filter and configuration setting in the ticker URL is passed on to the game page or schedule a visitor opens. A ticker with your colours opens game pages in your colours, and a ticker filtered to one division opens the schedule filtered to that division.

The ticker itself uses only the settings on this page. Other Stats Widget settings, such as configuration[logo] , configuration[navigation]  and configuration[filters] , have no visible effect on the strip and still apply on the pages it opens.

Example URLs

Setup URL
Whole season /seasons/15008/ticker
One division /seasons/15008/ticker?filter[division]=2290
Two divisions /seasons/15008/ticker?filter[division]=2290,2291
One team, for a team page /seasons/15008/ticker?filter[team]=14410
Playoffs only /seasons/15008/ticker?filter[type]=playoff
Branded /seasons/15008/ticker?configuration[primary-colour]=C8102E&configuration[secondary-colour]=1B365D
Branded, one division, display-only /seasons/15008/ticker?filter[division]=2290&configuration[primary-colour]=C8102E&configuration[secondary-colour]=1B365D&configuration[links]=false

Add https://gamesheetstats.com  in front of each path to use it as the iframe src .

Getting help

When you contact GameSheet about a ticker, include the full ticker URL. It contains the season, filters and colours, which is everything needed to reproduce what you see.
